  • Serious harp player

Seriously good that is. This is "Belly", no idea what his real name is or if I've spelt his nickname correctly but never mind. If you have ever heard a band called Blue Shaddy then you'll know who I talking about. Blue Shaddy are a hard driving foot stomping blues band who fill dance floors and lift roofs. Just brilliant.

They played in Broome last night and I invited myself to soundcheck and fired off a few frames. Sadly I had to miss the show (long story).

Lighting was not good as it was dusk and the stage lights were having little effect but I'm pretty happy with this anyway.

    Exif: f/5 ss 1/40 iso 5000

Used really slow shutter speed hoping to capture some movement of hands but with head still. That didn't happen but I'm ok with that.

Here are his tools of trade (similar exif to main image)

A harp for every occasion plus a few spares and a dedicated mic

Very rare I like motion blur, but it suits that first shot perfectly Mick. Great look to it.

Great shot, showing the musician's passion. Always amazes me the sound some people can get out of these.

Thanks Gabby. This guy is generally considered one of the best harp players in the country.
