  • Eagleby Wetlands finally came good

or at least better. I met another photographer there who was on for a chat and while we talked a number of bird species appeared in the trees around us. It does pay to just stand and wait.

I used a 1.4 teleconverter with the 500mm lens to give 700mm for these, but that makes f/8 the maximum aperture.

    1. A Laughing Kookaburra just as the sun came up. It was quite dark - 1/250 f/8 ISO 12,800

All beauties :-) there are a couple of Kookaburras at the zoo where I was the other day they are lovely and the sound they make could be heard nearly all over the zoo.

Thanks Phil. Very pleased to get a decent Pardalote photo, they are very small and fast. I don't often photograph Kookaburras, but the light looked special on this one.

All excellent shots Alan. The pardalote is a standout.

I just fired myself from cleaning my house.
I don't like my attitude and I caught myself drinking on the job.
