    Machine gunned Teal....

  • #2
Nice action sequence showing the flying Teal. The bird kinda blends in to the background so it doesn't stand out as much.

Well caught Mark, ducks fly quite fast. They do blend into the bg though.

Very clever Mark. Great concept and well titled.

Thanks all. Their colouring is really practical for them, and pretty for us....

I presume the machine gun part is the shutter release on the camera. It does show less wing movement than what I expected.

Yes, on the Oly we have Procap. Just takes several (programmable) shots within a second or so. Yes, I was slightly surprised that there was not much apparant wing movement, maybe the timing just missed that...

Yes, its a matter of stacking several photos in Photoshop.

From a Procapture sequence, Starting photoshop, use the Scripts in the File heading, Load Files into a stack, tick the create a smart object, and Attempt to align the source images....

Once it has stopped loading, go to Layers, Smart Objects, Stack mode, ...

You can play around with the mode, I think Minimum might give the best result.....

Been a while since I have done one, you need a fixed background to fix the image, and the subject will move on that....

I did a few sequence shots in the past and it worked out OK. Pretty easy with Photoshop using the stacking script and then masking. I combined some with the Out-Of-Border effect to get some different looks. Here's one:
