  • Backyard visitors

    My son pointed these out to me this morning. They had been spreading their wings enjoying a shower of rain but had stopped by the time I got the camera out.

    An advantage of having a messy backyard.

    Tawny Frogmouths are nocturnal birds, but are not owls. They sometimes roost in trees in our backyard during the day, and will allow you to get quite close, trusting their camouflage, although these were taken from a reasonable distance

      Stunning shots. Really like the eye contact in the last one.
      Fujifilm X-T5, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm film cameras.
