  • A visit to Sandy Camp Road wetlands

Not a good morning for birds when I'm going for shots of very common birds like Willie Wagtails and Darters. They are very common and easy to photograph so I have too many shots already.

I did see a woman photographing at a kingfisher's nest but didn't want to interfere with her shots.

    1. Australasian Darter

    3. Brown Honeyeater. Not the best pose but the background is nice and smooth

Not a bad morning either It may be my monitor but could 1 & 2 do with a slight lift in the lighting to bring out some of the detail in the shadows? The Royal Spoonbill stack is a great shot.

Thanks AlfandBen. I always wary of lightening black birds too much and turning them grey. I think #1 is ok but I've left the background dark as there isn't anything worthwhile there. You are correct that #2 could do with the shadows lifted just a little.

I was looking at them on my monitor at work. They look fine on my monitor at home.

A great set, despite any weather situations. The Spoonbill photos work well, we have Eurasian Spoonbills here now, slowly moving north with global warming.....

Have to add, we could do with a bit of Global warming here in South Wales, UK. Temperature was 3'C last night...

Thanks Mark. You are welcome to some of our warmth - we had 35 last week but down to around 30 today.

My son in Seoul, South Korea is getting minimums of around -2 and maximums of around 3. I will be there next week.
