Birds from a later morning walk

I like to get out just after sunrise but didn't get out until after nine on this day, so the birds were less active than I usually see, and the best light had gone. I did find a few.

1. Australian Magpie. There are always a few around foraging along the paths and this one wasn't bothered by me.


2. Another Magpie


3. After it flew into a tree


4. Pied Currawong with a grasshopper. It just sat in the tree and didn't move as I walked past


5. Australasian Darter. The water was quite muddy but the camera has brought out the blue from the sky

Can't help but see some intelligence behind those eyes. I wonder what evolution has in store for those dinosaurs. Interesting and unusual shot of the Darter so much at home in the water.

Love 'em. I have quite a few Jackdaws in the garden at various times of the day. Some are frit, others stay their ground when I walk there. I find if I don't look at them directly, they are more likely to stay...Lovely photos...

Great images of an Aussie iconic bird. They can be very friendly if you give them a snack. Lovely darter shot too. The sky is always a good colour changer for water.
