Some from Inskip Point a few weeks ago

1. Little Wattlebird

3. Eastern Whipbird. Often heard but rarely seen. Not a quality photo due to mixed sun and shade but a bird not actually seen very often


4. Eastern Whipbird calling. An even worse photo but better than nothing. I'm not going to bother removing stuff.


5. Australasian Figbird

I would be happy with those. Can't say I've seen a whip bird have heard them many times but only on the escarpment forests.

Thanks Hans. The whipbirds seem to favour moist forests and rainforests, although this one was in a fairly dry environment.

Agree with others Alan, all good shots. I'd be happy with all of them. You have such a great variety.

Nowhere near the variety I have around my area. I think the whipbird in #3 is very good - great colours, nice and sharp, I don't mind the pose and the POV is good too. #4, just a bit blended with the background but a little PP would fi that.

#3 has been fairly heavily processed. It’s ok but the head is a bit soft and it doesn’t look as good at a larger size, but I’m quite pleased to get any photo of a whipbird.

Looks sharp enough for the forum but I understand if you want it in a larger format. I've never seen a whipbird, so you're one up on me mate!
