  • From Eagleby Wetlands this morning

First time I've visited for over a month after being away for a couple of weeks.

    1. Rufous Fantail. I had to remove some Casuarina leaves from in front of it and there looks to be something out of focus in front of its face, but they are rarely still.

You have a great variety at Eagleby. Lovely shots. I think the sea eagle's wings could do with a bit of dodging to show off those lovely patterns and remove the lines top left and the small upright branch bottom left?

Thanks Isac. I’m sure I replied to this but it seems to have disappeared.

I thought I’d cropped out the bits at top left and didn’t notice there was some left ~ too focused on the bird probably.

I had brightened the wings but couldn’t get the contrast right so I backed off a little. The angle is too high for a good photo anyway.

All good Alan. Yeah it's hard to make a shot look good when birds are up high.

And you got a reasonable haul. The Cisticola looks a winner. and Rufous looks ready for action.
Better a full bottle in front of me

Thanks Hans. I don't see those fantails all that often and get even fewer chances of a shot.

I remember seeing a very similar bird on Norfolk Island.

Well caught. Those Wetlands seem to be an excellent environment...

Thanks Mark. It’s a good place for a wander around, but it sometimes takes a while to find a subject.
