More Lorikeets and Noisy Miners

Unfortunately the Umbrella Tree flowers only seem to attract Rainbow Lorikeets and Noisy Miners, with an occasional Scaly-breasted Lorikeet. I've been trying to catch some of the interactions and flights but am finding it difficult to get it all together.

Another great set. Excellent detail and the Rainbows are so vibrant. Is Noisy Miner actually the name of these birds or just a description of the racket they make. I only ask as neither of these appear to be saying anything. If I had to pick it would be between #1 and #3 or then again maybe #4. They're all super shots.

Thanks AlfandBen, Noisy Miner is their name to distinguish from several similar species such as Bell Miner (Bellbird) and Yellow-throated Miner.

The lorikeets are usually much noisier but the miners are aggressive to other birds, cats, snakes, possums etc., and are very noisy when a flock of them gather to drive off an intruder. They do give way to the lorikeets and, surprisingly, tolerate the Butcherbirds.

The lorikeets and miners are the most common birds around here.

Oh, lucky you. I have to walk a whole block (5 houses) to see our local birds.

The big advantage is I'm up at their level and in a comfortable and spacious hide

My "hide" is probably similar to yours but lacks a lovely outlook like have. I have to be content with the local park.
