The Umbrella Tree is almost ready

The Umbrella Tree next door is flowering and the birds are back at it, but so far on the higher, less visible flowers. I tried a few shots this afternoon but few clear shots so far. Here are the best - some cropped. I hope to get some better shots over the next few days.

All with D850, Nikon 500 PF plus 1.4 TC. I didn't really need the TC for these and I chopped off some tails, but I wanted to see its effect on sharpness.

All taken from my kitchen window.

Beautiful shots Alan. The rainbows are a bit of a pest but they excel in the colour department. That halo is so easy to remove using the "Minimum" filter. I've use it many times, very quick and easy. I played with image and it was gone in seconds.

Beautiful colours and detail. The TC doesn't seem to have had much affect on the sharpness at all. Love the pose in #4

Thanks AlfAndBen, the tc slows focus, particularly in lower light but I'm happy with the results.

Yea, the Rainbows are really cheeky birds from my experience of visits to Oz. My Mum used to feed them from her balcony, so they had little fear of the main invasive species, you and me...

Thanks Mark. the Rainbows also appear to refuse to be intimidated by the Noisy Miners that are aggressive to many other birds.
