I bought myself a 1.4x Teleconverter for Christmas and tried it for the first time this morning. My visitors have gone and the rain has stopped, although there is more on the way. Tygum Lagoon is full and 10mm or so over the path in spots.
Focus is a noticeably slower with the TC and it reduces sharpness a little but I'm happy with it so far.
All with D850, Nikon 500 PF plus 1.4TC giving 700mm at f/8 wide open
1. Little Corella feeding in a Casuarina
2.Superb Fairy-wren hiding in the bushes. The Fairy-wrens did not cooperate this morning but this shows feather detail is OK
3. Tawny Grassbird hiding in the grass
4. Cattle Egret in breeding colours.
5. Intermediate Egret showing off its plumes
