  • White-faced Heron visitor to my backyard

I looked out my window yesterday and saw this White-faced Heron poking around. It was quite wary of me but I managed to get a couple of photos before the Noisy Miners finally chased it off.

It's finally raining after a couple of months without rain so hopefully the lakes and waterholes are getting some water.

Excellent shots. Quite an interesting look to it with the white feathers on the face.

Nice to get the heron close to your back yard Alan. Lovely shots and great background separation in #2

Thanks Isac, it (or another) was back today for a short time.

I've seen a few walking around the street near the lake and they are fascinating to watch as they stroll around the yards checking out the surrounds.
        Remember this one?

Yes I remember that - a good sequence. I have had them here before a couple of times before.

They are attractive, although not colourful, and smaller than you expect.
