    Love 'em all Alan, but #1 and #3 are the standout images for me. The dark background really makes the subject pop.

      Thanks John, #1 was really too far away but the light was interesting and the camera managed to focus on it.

    All great images and well presented in the frame Alan. I love #1, that dark BG is perfect. I have a similar image of a couple of Pekin ducks that was way under exposed and it came out great, just like yours. I'll post in a new thread with the cormorant as well

      Thanks Isac. This one was surprisingly well exposed on the bird despite the dark water. I pulled the highlights back a little and lifted shadows on the bird and also darkened the water by just under a stop. I was lucky with the light on this morning.

      It shows that there are lots of options with the power of editing software. You can get some amazing images from what may well be an ordinary photo to start with. Lovely result to get what you envisaged.
