Yes Phil I was quite pleased how these came out and was surprised at the amount of detail from a Bird sitting in a shaded area. Thanks for the comment

No 1 by a whisker. What a lovely image. Good exposure made a difference. As did the composition. Good one mate!

Not seen a honeyeater that colour so I don't know what it is. Lovely images.

We have a few living in the Bottlebrush in our backyard and a few New Holland Honeyeaters that live with them. Glad you like the shots.

        Definitely a Brown Honeyeater.

Beautiful images eaglem and #1 is my pick. Rich contrasting colours that stand out against the dark background. The feather detail look a little smeared to me, but that gives it a lovely painting-like look.

I can't pick the species but I wonder if the colours are a bit off as they are different in each photo. The first has a dark neck, the second looks white. The patterns look like a Brown Honeyeater but the colours are wrong for it. The Brown Honeyeater is olive-brown with a triangular yellow or white patch behind the eye.

The lighting in the second shot may have caused this. The Bird was hit with a ray of light when I took the shot.
