  • Fairy-wrens and a Crested Pigeon

As an experiment, I tried linking to my images on Zenfolio instead of loading to the forum. Clicking an image should give a much larger image.

I stayed with the Fairy-wrens for a while hoping to get a shot of them on a natural perch but they didn't cooperate.

    1. Superb Fairy-wren on the grass

    2. Superb Fairy-wren on the fence

    3. Superb Fairy-wren on the lily pads

    4. This Crested Pigeon was vigorously shaking this piece of cake (or bread) to break pieces off. Each time it did it would shut its eyes

Lovely as usual Alan. I suppose we should all try that type of posting method. I think it's a bit less of a strain on the bandwidth too.
I do use hosting sites for various needs, one is PostImage which is very easy to use.
I might try a few other hosting sites and compare them in the "Testing" channel for ease of use etc.

      Some sites don't allow hot-linking.

The forum allows you to store a copy of the image locally but that rather defeats the purpose.

I do prefer the drag and drop method, it's quick and easy and I keep all my images at hand without relying on the cloud - so I think I'll stick with that. I save a copy at 1200 pixels and around 250 -300 kb, which is OK for the forum.

Yes, drag and drop is quick and easy, but I normally put most of my best images on Zenfolio so it isn't much extra for me.
