    G'day Mark

Several things here that catch my eye ...
You have seen / shown us an interesting bit of your local history ... great
I did not know custard 'could' or 'should' be made using eggs

I also note the spelling of 'flavor' ... where did that come from "in England" ?

ps- pic wise-- it's a beaut record of history, keep 'em coz you / we never know how long it's going to be there

    Phil

Spelling of Flavor could be American. Mat just be Bird's Custard is an American company. Custard ...not a cook, but can it be made without eggs?? Wartime restrictions might a factor..Thanks for the comments, the photos, and content is probably more important than the method...:-)

According to some research, "flavor" used to be spelt like that in the UK in earlier times. Examples of its use are easily found in British texts from the 19th century and earlier. The Company is British founded by Alfred Bird in 1837. Still going strong.

Thanks for that research Isac, I always thought the American 's missed out the "u" in several words. I am now re-educated...
