  • Some shorebirds

    At Wellington Point on Moreton Bay this morning.

    Many of the migratory shore birds are hard to tell apart so my ids could be totally wrong.

    All with Nikon D850 and 500mm PF f/5.6

    3. Collared (I think) Kingfisher

    4. Grey-tailed Tattler. These breed in North-East Siberia and migrate to the southern hemisphere for the northern winter.

    Crazy distances those little birds fly. Deserve to have their habitat protected.Good pics like always.
    The Kingfishers beak always looks a bit over sized for the bird.
    Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

    Excellent shots.
    Fujifilm X-T5, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm film cameras.

    Great shots. The shallow depth of field on the water shots really makes the birds pop.

      Thanks. I should have been lower for those in the rocks, but unlike really dedicated bird photographers I wasn’t going to lie in the mud.
