  • Some small birds

    A few small birds from this morning's outing. The birds were fairly cooperative again.

    All with Nikon D850 and 500mm PF f/5.6

    1. Red-backed Fairy-wren.

    2. Male Variegated Fairy-wren. This is the first shot I've manged to get ot a male. He didn't come into the open for me.

    5. Another Golden-headed Cisticola I think. It appeared to be building a nest in the grass beside the boardwalk. Not a good shot but I included it to show it with the nesting materials.

    Another great series. Nice composition, beautiful colours and lots of detail and those little catchlights in the eyes. #3 nicely caught (you and him) and I like the pose in #5 and showing it in it's natural environment going about it's normal business (perhaps looking a bit mothy though).

      Thanks. I would have preferred cleaner backgrounds for the Fairy-wrens but you have to take what you can get.
