Butcherbird Feast

Just walking along the path and a Grey Butcherbird landed in front of me with a large cicada and started to eat it. A few more metres along the path and I heard what I thought was a fledgling calling for food. Looked around in the foliage and saw another Butcherbird feeding on what I thought was a baby bird but turned out to be what looks like a huge cicada, perhaps infected with a fungus.

Image quality is poor but I think the subject matter makes up for it.

Nothing wrong with the IQ Alan. Lovely action shots and very good colours. They have those bulky looking leg feathers like some raptors.

Yes, but it's a trade-off - removing all noise also removes detail, although some of the newer products seem to do better.

I've been using Topaz DeNoise AI lately and it does a great job.

Agree nothing wrong with the image quality and well caught. I had to look up butcher birds and, according to Wikipedia they have a body length of 10 -12" which I estimate makes the bug 3-4 inches long. That's quite a mouthfull.
