Nice shots. Really like that last one of the heron with the colorful leaves in the background.
    Fujifilm X-T5, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm film cameras.

Lovely colours on #1. Although the colours in #4 are superb, I'd prefer a crop to ROT to give it some impact - just my thoughts though

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Much better, makes the bird take the focus more.

The last one is my pick with its colours and better separation from the background. The crop to move the bird from the centre makes a big difference.

nice series, I prefer the last one and agree that more impact is there with it cropped.
sometimes, a step either way, left or right can improve an image.
In this case I wonder if a step to the right would have let you frame the bird without the bright sky there?
sometimes not of course, but you always get your insurance shot before moving though, cos birds have an annoying tendency to just fly off...............
          good work

note, the last time I suggested this about a step either way, I got called an idiot and it was dumb advice.
obviously I meant for next time etc.
for new birders or otherwise, the thrill of seeing your quarry up close can override the decision making.
you see the pic and happy to get the pic, but after a while, you might still take your insurance pic
but then if the subject cooperates, then you might consider improving on what you have.
and improving is what we want to do afterall.
so there you have it, another dumb post.
