  • A few more from Eageby Wetlands

    1. Backlit White Ibis. I've deliberately left it dark for a different look.

    2. Magpie Goose. Yes the whites on its back are blown. Its takeoff took me by surprise and not really good enough to post.

All good shots Alan. Even the magpie goose. I like the downward wing position and the way it's spreading the primary feathers. They can actually rotate those feathers to control flight - amazing.
#4 is an excellent shot with good detail and lighting spot on. It's gaze is fixated on something for sure. Looks good in its breeding plumage.

Agree with Isac. Also like the dark background on #4. Not sure about the deepshadows in #1

    did well again here.
bit hard for me to go past the great egret in the breeding plumage
I think the ibis pic needs to lose the bright green plant rising from the log as I feel it ruins the darker mood of the shot. maybe the one coming in from lhs too

Thanks Stephen. Yes the egret is my pick from these.

I had removed some of the green leaves from the image in Photoshop, but looks like I’ve exported the raw image by mistake.

Excellent shots. It always amazes me how well traveled Great Egrets are.
