on the way back from the willy yesterday, there were quite a lot of galahs and cockatoos on the ground browsing.
as I got around them I bit, some flew. let me get a decent look at them for lock on.
not much light with the storms around and these have no right to be sharp, but are somehow. wingtips arent of course
not really coming right at me, but sure looked like it for a few pix not coming from that tree either but sorta looks that way too

Well how about that mate! I doubt there would be too many shots of galahs from that angle. Very appealing work. It would be a great feeling to be above the birds

is a target rich environment out here now. is also a downhill bit to the rest of the house paddock area. all helps

Unfortunately, not too many downhill shots available in my surrounding area, it's all pretty flat and the trees a monster gums - so I'm usually looking at their undercarriage

kind of a shame you so far away. you would likely take home a card full of decent pix from here

I do see the black cockies on most days, but they are always overhead and if I don't see them, I certainly hear them.

they are almost always on the flat eating the grass seeds and things here. we get a few at eye level on some trees from down the flat, and maybe from the maples and things that are now leafing up so limited clear shots for six months or so. we have 3 decent hills on here as well with the corresponding gullies thru them, that usually have glossy blacks there but not seen any for a while, but it is all green here right now, so they could go anywhere. not seen a gang gang in a while either, for likely the same reasons.
retiring from the rat race to here is pretty much everything we wanted. 144 acres of land, most of that would be native bush, maybe 50ish acres of grass. dont have to go anywhere to do what we used to drive a fair way for pix for. even sky pix. hopefully clear skies for the exclipse tonight.

You're lucky to be able to move to a lovely place like you have. I'm stuck in suburbia because of family so I'll be here until the end, so I just make the most of it.
