  • More birds from this morning (Wednesday)

I went out early this morning, got some shots and was home before the worst of the traffic.

    3. Little Pied Cormorant on the same post
Another cormorant came along and tried to take over the perch, but I had my eye to the viewfinder and only saw a bit of wing so I missed it.

did well with all of these. good light is your friend here.
not sure the pole the swamphen is on helps the shot. would be tempted to crop closer to bring the swamphen up a bit.
    well done

All wonderful shots Alan. #2 - crop? or not to crop? As presented I don't mind the extra space, it gives a bit of scale and adds a minimalist flavour (a horizontal flip would make it perfect for me ) - and I guess a crop would also be OK and would probably present the image with a totally different look.

Thanks Isac. The crop does work a bit better. I don't mind the right to left composition - makes for a bit of variety.

The shot you have is really a good example of the ROT to me so it's OK in the frame. The left to right thing is just me and I know it doesn't bother most people.

Excellent set! I think the crop on #2 is good where it is.
      Fujifilm X-T5, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm film cameras.
