  • Intermediate Egret in flight

This one flew past while I was watching the Cattle Egrets the other day. The eye colour and surrounding green show it's in breeding plumage although you can't see much of the plumes.

Thanks, I might have overdone trying to control the bright whites. It could probably take another half stop or so, perhaps a little more in the mid-tones.

A think a touch more exposure would help but you did well to control the highlights. Nice work.

Lovely capture of a graceful bird. A bit of post work would perhaps lift it a bit but OK as is with good detail and colour.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Another great BIF shot, you`ve got this type of shot down to a fine art, bit jealous actually.

Thanks Kevin, but you don't see all of the binned and missed shots. Egrets and Pelicans don't fly too fast; the hardest part is waiting for a one at a decent height, distance and angle in good light - and seeing them coming in time to get them framed and in focus.
