saw this guy feeding nearby and periodiacally go to the top of the casuarina tree.
prefocused on the tree top and eventually he did come back for a pic or two.

I'd like to see the sky backed off a tad - but that's me. They are a beautiful bird to watch as they dart about, "stop - look - and listen" then off they go. We have lots flying about in the trees at the lake so I see them just about every day. That tree it's on really adds to the image.

I agree about the sky. Don't know why cos it wasn't boosted.
I had A robin pic with the yellow b/g was electric and I finished up pulling saturation back. Should have done this one too

Very nice Stephen. Great contrast in their colours so they make excellent subjects. I agree the sky looks a bit intense.

just did a quick and dirty on the blue,
selected blue colour range and desaturated it by 40
still unsure of why it looked so bright but it happened.
maybe a bit less electric now? or maybe a tad muddy in the blues at least

Am I being a pain? I reckon it needs more desat or even a colour correct to be a more natural sky colour. That's just me though - I get a bit pedantic about such things
I made a sky gradient that I use often for clear blue skies and after much analysing of photos I've taken of hundreds of sky shots in my collection, I averaged two colours for the gradient (dark = #4870ac / light = #b1ddff). As the sky gets lighter towards the earth, this gradient works really well and can always be adjusted with a brightness/contrast adjustment layer.

            G'day all

As someone who enjoys 'brighter colours' I would happily accept the original "coz that's the way is was"
The blue of the sky varies enormously thru the day and as you aim the lens up or sideways, so to me the original is more than acceptable
            So there !!!

Nice shot. I think the re-edit is subtle but works well.

alrighty, just to keep isac from nagging me. Have reworked the jpg only and added a gradient with ISAC settings. dark = #4870ac / light = #b1ddff
like I said, I have put the suggested gradient on the image with the above suggested colours.
looks better in my opinion, so maybe he was right to nag me..........

I'm tickled pink with your rework on the sky, content in the knowledge that you had a crack at it. As you know, the colours are all adjustable with hue/sat and brightness/contrast adjustment layers. Thanks for the wrap

Thanks mate. I was trying to sort out what was there. For some reason it never occurred to me to replace it.
your choice of sky colouring is very well suited

I have noticed the sky getting that polarised light looking east in the afternoon sometimes. Like the more natural look you finished with.
