The extremely rare Frog-mouthed Cisticola

It's actually a Golden-headed Cisticola. It was in an awkward spot and this was the only usable shot from a sequence.. The others had shadows or obscuring bits of foliage, and this one showed a very odd looking bird.

nice pose and angle on this one.
seeing a lot of noise on the bird. not so much on the background. wondering if you did NR on background and not the bird?
only iso 1100 so maybe the bird was dark or something? dunno.

Thanks Stephen. Yep looks like I ran NR on the bg but not the bird. I didn't notice the noise in the shaded part of the bird - no brightening in post so not sure what happened. but I suspect I have also nicely sharpened the noise.

What Stephen said. But it's a beautiful looking bird. Most times front on doesn't work that well but this one does for me.

Great image Alan, something you don't see very often. Is that a twig between the bird and the branch, or is it the even rarer three legged frog-mouthed cisticola?
