Tawny Grassbird

I had spent an hour wandering around the lakes and got nothing at all, when I saw this bird a long way away in the tall grass. I tried a few shots just so I had something to take home. I did get more shots later and considered just deleting this set of images, but decided to see what I could do with it.

It came up better than I expected, but too small for anything except web display. I had to remove some clutter from the edges of the frame.

Nikon D800, Nikkor 500mm PF f/5.6. 1/1600 f/5.6 ISO 400

1. Cropped and processed. This is a 1623 x 1217 pixel crop from the original frame, resized for the forum.


2. Full frame just converted to jpeg

nice bird but bummer about the perch angle. hate it when they do that to you.

Yeah, pretty good result for such a big crop. FF helps with that situation no doubt.
