  • last thing a pine cone ever sees

been hearing these guys all morning and even seeing a few roosting in dud places,
so before lunch I saw a couple that might go somewhere decent and was working my way around the light for a pic, cos the sky was white.
some magpies chased off a pair and they flew lower and I not need plus 3 ev anymore
working my way into position getting an insurance pic so had exposure set and focused when the one I was right on flew off.
iinitially straight at me to clear the branches then peeled up, but I got the whole sequence. cos no focussing etc etc needed.
    came back a happy camper

Quite a dramatic shot Stephen - looks like it's coming right at you. Excellent work.

Gorgeous birds. Great action shot of one of Australia's iconic birds. Pine cones are a delicacy for these birds.
