  • White-throated Sparrow

    One of our winter residents that are now starting to show up from up north.

    Very nice David. Sharp, attractive colours and clean background, but the bird gets a bit lost at the small size on the forum. Looks much better in the larger versions on Flickr. Have you considered cropping it a little closer to remove the twig at top left.

      I had meant to remove that stick in the top left. As far as the crop, I've cropped in as much as I can before I really start to lose detail.

    What a lovely little bird David!. Photographed very well. I do agree with wigz about it being lost in the surrounds and also a crop would be better. The Flickr image is so much more detailed.
    I think the BG needs dulling down to highlight the bird with a crop to place it more in the frame. I hope you don't mind the edit.

      Thanks David. It's just a "thing" I have with a single bird shot that it is the hero of the shot and should be highlighted. Easy to do using masks and the hue/sat adjustment layer and curves.
