This was taken on a recent visit to Tygum Park where I met up with wigz, and spent a couple of hours walking around the lake. This was the only shot I grabbed worth posting.

It'd be nice if the bird was facing the camera more, but wildlife rarely cooperates. Nice shot.

Nice one John. It’s a female Superb Fairy-wren. You missed a few opportunities with some gear issues, and I suspect conversation distracted us from the wildlife. It was good to meet you and put a face to the name.

Likewise Alan, good to meet up. I ended up removing a 50mm long hair from the sensor of the 7D, you know from meeting me that it couldn't have been one of mine.

I guess it didn't go perfectly for you John. I like the image, it has good detail. Maybe a bit busy but that's life in the jungle I guess.

As per usual, birds rarely cooperate so you take what you can get. To take a leaf out of Isac`s book, I`d remove the 2 dots near the tail, but otherwise, nice shot..

came out well. I was wishing for some more eye contact with the bird.
after getting your insurance shot sometimes just a small noise like a whistle or something can get you the head turn you want. (can get the bird to fly off too though. hence insurance shot first)
would lose that white thing above the end of the tail too as it does pull the eye.
