I went WOW when I seen this one as I have not seen a duck in our part with this type of sheen on it.
Could you please tell me what it is as I am not real sure on that score but I like this shot and well done to you on being at the right place at the right time. -

Agree with Ralph ... what an extraordinary colour / sheen across those feathers ~ incl the small 'cow-lick' curls just over the tail

good work on this one. amazing colours
has the curled tail feathers of a mallard.
green head like that of a mallard drake on steroids, but lacking the white neck ring.
seems mallard bill also.
wonder what is crossed with?
