  • Flight Path of the Yabby

I went over to the wetlands across the road from home and I could see to the right a Pelican chasing a Little Pied Cormorant about.
I did try to get closer to see if it was anything to get but then this is what I seen.
No time to think and it was just point and hope the setting would be okay in the camera.

Pretty OK for a quick "point and hope" shot Ralph. 1/1600th seems to be a good speed for this type of action. action I too love a good feed of yabbies.

Thanks Phil for that as I have wondered just how this was done as I did look and then look again and I seen nothing. So it had me so curious to how people were doing it. I just thought I was missing something. But as it is I was and for that information I think you so much for it. But I am not too bothered about downloading it as I am happy to look at what I see and just go by that. I rather let my eye tell me if I like it over the actual settings that it was shot under. If you understand what I mean there. My curiosity has been filled by Phil (get it) and I can happily move onlooking at shots how I see them over and above other stuff. Many thank to you once again Phil.

Hi Ralph. What browser do you use (Chrome, Firefox?) and what computer do you use, Windows or Mac?

      I use Firefox.
I am am not after downloading this thing you need to know the settings. I still rather good by what I see in the actual photo over knowing the number and If I need the number I am sure someone would let me know if I asked.
I was just curious how you all found out the numbers as I try to work it out but had not idea after trying to find them.

As I said above I am so happy that I was there at the right time. I know I will take that every time as well.

The details of the shot won't necessarily help you when posting pix, but could well help others. Newbies to a genre would see rhe details and have a starting place should they want to give it a go.
I have been putting details about that sort of thing for years. Is so those not using exif readers have access to the details
Years ago when I started in bird photography, i was amazed by pix you could only dream about, so I sought out how they got them. Even time of day info was there. Even percentage of frame helped cos you learn how close they were etc.
with that info you figure it ain't magic and so if they cold do it, I could too. Just a matter of learning your equipment, using the light, learning about your subject. These things are gonna make you better.
Even people criticising your pix makes you better.
Often and especially at first, we think our pix are the best thing ever but it ain't necessarily so. Others see them as they are.

I am not arguing with this is in any way. I just myself, like to look at the shot and go from there as to if I like it or not.
My question was how was the information found as I found that I had no idea how you lot who are smarter than me found it.
I know now and that is my curiosity done.
So as to these numbers helping other I agree on that and not arguing one little bit on that.
I hope this clears it up.

I just want to make sure that you knew I was understand fully to what you had put down not much more than that.
Not knowing how it was found had me sort of wondering just how it was all found as I honestly had no idea on that
but seen a few where about to know what the numbers were, as like with mine I can only see them in the folder where they are
posted from. But now I know I am very happy with that.
