Glossy Black cockatoo (female)

another cockatoo species from on here
I just about never see these things out in the open. usually deep in casuarina trees eating the nuts.
we have what I call a raptor tree behind the house (same tree in my milky way pic) and sometimes
you get interesting birds sitting in it.
mostly raptors fly off if you try to get close but sometimes pix are possible.
there was a pair of glossies there and I saw them from the house.
worked around to the best side of the light even though it was full overcast behind them.
the male flew off but the female sat there watching.
this is about as close as I could get. full frame but cropped to portrait.

A big fan of the black cockatoos. I don't see the glossy in WA. Lovely image BTW. The background is a bit too glary for my old eyes. I replaced the bg to a less bright one and it made the bird pop a bit more.
