  • galah portraiat from the other day

In the absence of anything much else to take pix of, I got this portrait of a male galah. had the teleconverter on so he not fit in the frame but was able to close the gap a bit for a portrait.

Beautiful bird. That red eye is quite impressive. Nice shots.

Great portraits Stephen! Well framed and sharp detail. Plenty of these galahs around our lake at present. They love to have their families here.
Nice to see you drop in

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Thanks mate. Long lens helps getting close though.

Lots of detail in these Stephen. Background is softer in #1 but I like the light in #2 and the background is soft enough not to be distracting.

I get a few opportunities around here. the sulphur crested cockies are in the bad books today for biting off all the daffodils my partner planted along the drive but everything else is doing their normal thing eating grass seeds or whatever they find. sure beats living in the city. cockatoos not withstanding right about now

We lost pretty much our entire crop of corn earlier this year to the cockies. I didn't really mind I enjoy their antics.
