  • A couple on the tidal flats

I was in Yeppoon for a couple of days last week and spent an hour or so trying to get decent shots of these. Very shy and keeping their distance but I managed to get these.

All with Nikon D800 and Nikkor 500mm PF f/5.6

    G'day Alan

We were 'almost' in Yappoon a week or so ago but decided otherwise ... now heading inland towards Mitchell before back to Brisbane in early Sept

Your images - as always - are beaut, excellent sharpness and colour. Keep 'em coming

Thanks Phil. These could actually be sharper as they are heavy crops, but ok at this size.

Good move avoiding the coast, although I like Yeppoon. There are constant roadworks from Miriamvale to Gympie.

Loving the plover in particular. Lovely set.
Always feel free to rip apart any image of mine I post.

Lovely colours and up to your usual high quality Alan. Those plovers look like close cousins to the Black Fronted Dotterel.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Thanks Isac. They are similar to the dotterels, my reference app groups plovers, lapwings and dotterels together
