  • Pied Oystercatchers

    These are from a few years ago. I've been trying to get a couple recently in the early morning sun, but the only time I see them is when I don't have the big lens with me.

    Nikon D800, Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 + 1.4x tc @ 420mm. 1/1250 f/5.6 ISO 110

      Thanks Phil. That lens could give results but the autofocus could be a bit off just a little too often. The new one is more consistent and resolves more detail, but is not a zoom. As always a trade off.

    You've done well Alan. Lovely detail, colour and fully zoomed gives a good bokeh too. A little shadows lift on the bird shows a lot of detail on it's dark feathers.
