  • Black-face Woodswallow in Storm Cloud

    I went looking for a Black Shouldered Kite and got it but I 1st seen these and when I took the shots I liked what I was seeing.
    Yes, I do understand what I like to what is liked here are a long way different but it would be so boring seeing the same thing each and ever time you came here.

    1 = This is the cloud behind the bird.

    2 = two of them as they were going from paddock to paddock.

    3 = Much later and the clouds had opened up a little.

    Very nice Ralph. I like the dramatic lighting in #1 and #2. Nice clear shots with a clean background. #3 is fine too but doesn’t stand out as much as the first two.

      I thought I did answer all these but there is nothing there to say I did so not sure what I done wrong for the comments not to show up.
      I am happy with them and knew the dark could behind made for a good background but I am a fan of the blue sky shot a little more.

    The storm cloud adds a bit of drama and makes it a bit different. Well captured they are probably crazy flyers like the common swallows.
    Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

      I agree with you on what you have said and these are not as whacky of flyers as the Welcome Swallows as I have noticed anyway.
