  • Black Shouldered Kite

The local bird group went out and I just had all my teeth out so I couldn't go and they got the bird in the topic headline.
This was on Tuesday and on Friday I got the okay to go out and I went out close to where they were but never seen it.
So the next day while going through the shots from Friday I got bored and decided to try out that way again but go up a different road.
Luck was with me but the 400mm lens was found wanting but the mirrorless lets you crop much harder so this is one good thing.
Here are a few of what I got on the day.

3 It was by total luck that I seen it as I was behind a tree and only notice a white thing, and this is what it was.

So I came home very happy and with a very muddy car.

Beautiful shots Ralph. Worth a bit of mud - easy to wash off!

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Mud is good on the car until you lean on it. Then you remember that you need to wash it.
But we have got more rain coming this weekend so I will wait a while so I can get back out there.
I will just wash my windows, lights (all) and number plates.
As I don't need a fine for the cops being unable to read them.

Excellent work Ralph. They look nice and sharp even though there isn't a lot of visible detail because of the distance. I like the first two best, but also the last two showing both birds are a bit different with the interesting pattern of the branches.

The reason to why I am doing my best to pester the wife about the 600mm lens and I don't care which one.
The shot with both of them in it in the 1st one look a little hard and you will see a shape of a smaller bird.
This is a Babbler where there were at one stage about 5 or so giving them a hard time.
Though I know there isn't much detail in the last 2, but for me it show the 2 of them and from what I have been told they are going into their mating season now.
Working...
