  • Sulphur Crested Cockatoo

I took a few shot of this one and then took more than I am posting.
But I am unsure of which is the best post to post so I have post up a few.
And this is when I wished I had the longer reaching lens. Actually on this day 03-05-2022 there were a few times when the little 400mm lens was pushed.
But I think for what it is the thing is still doing quite a good job.

Yes Greg there is a change again. I do like to play at things.

Lovely shots of the cockatoo in the tree hollow Ralp. All are good but I think I prefer the first as more detail is visible at this size. #3 is a close second as showing more of the tree gives more context and I think the vertical format works better for this subject.

Thank you Alan as I didn't know which one was working better. So an option of them gave as I think a way to get it right. Well maybe anyway.

    G'day Ralph

    Some beaut shots here -
ps.... a couple of thousand yrs ago, back in film days, I used my 1000mm lens for pics like these, and coz it was so big, I tried for birds further away than common sense suggested - and got the sort of pics you are showing us here. Moral of the story ... it don't matter what "damn big milk bottle" we've got bolted onto the camera, we'll always push it further than perhaps we should

Lovely captures of a wonderful bird Ralph. Well spotted. It looks very relaxed in its lovely little home.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Went back and I did look for it and it wasn't there but about 10 minutes later there it was. So I am thinking this is its nesting hollow and a good idea to keep an eye out for it over time.
    Working...
