  • Birds at Eagleby Wetlands this morning

This is the first time I have been back to Eagleby Wetlands since the floods. Lots of flood debris higher than my head in the trees. Much of the weed appears to have been flushed out so there is now plenty of clear water,

Beautiful shots Alan. Great variety of birds, Lucky you having so many to shoot. We are still a bit dry here, although a full day's rain yesterday added some much needed water to one section of our small lake. It instantly brought the ducks back in, so we're heading back to normal in the near future. I've never seen the Lewins or a pardalote. And it's always nice to get a good clear shot of a Grebe. TFS.

Thanks Isac, it was a slow start this morning but, as usually happens, if you just hang around for a while something turns up.

    G'day Alan

More beaut images from you for us to enjoy
I visited Canberra's Jerrabomberra Wetlands the other day and was unimpressed ... yes there was water, yes there were bird hides, but with 30 to 60m between the hide and any bird activity it was hardly worth turning the camera on

Thanks Phil. There are some bird hides at Eagleby, but most of them are also far from the birds or have plants blocking the view. I have managed a few shots from one of them but this is rare. Perhaps if I sat in one for a couple of hours I might get some shots, but I’m not that patient.
