#1 - White faced heron.

#2 - Wood duck family.

The heron contrasts beautifully with the other colours in the first image. The second image says water the giver of life!

Two very nice images Isac. Ducklings always lift an image through sheer cuteness. You do get a good variety of birds at your small lakes.

I remember someone calling them rain birds. I didn't see that in the info I read about them on Google. Currawongs that was.

Rain birds are just a myth. But cuckoos are sometimes called rainbirds because they sing before rain comes.

The one I know as Storm Bird or Rain bird is the Pacific Koel that arrives in North and Eastern Australia during September or October (storm season here) and call incessantly. They are a type of cuckoo. The same common name an be applied to many birds though.
