Night Heron

Rufous (Nankeen) Night Heron (Nycticorax caledonicus).
I feel a bit privileged to have this bird living at our close by lake. They are native to Australia and are widespread in most states of the country except for the west, in which it is rare.
They are seen in New Zealand, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Java, New Caledonia, Palau, and the Caroline Islands, Federated States of Micronesia.

I don't see this one very often and when I do it's always hiding in the swampy regions of the park, so not easy to get a good shot.

Well done to get shots of this Isac, even if it is hiding in the bushes. I've only seen photos of them, never set eyes on one.
