  • Blue Water

I aimed at the Wood Duck family - pressed the BBF button - pressed the shutter button #1 pressed again and as #2 was taken a huge truck with a bright blue tarp (doing about 70km/hr) passed by in the background and the reflection of the tarp made the water appear blue. It amused me but I don't know if anyone else will be impressed.

    #1 - Before the truck.

#2 - With the truck. It gives it a completely different look.

Haha, They must have thought you had goodies for them. They are very quiet. We have ducks on the dams but when I stop the truck the ducks fly off. Even without me getting out.
Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

I'm wondering if they have been have previously encountered people who are looking for fresh ingredients to whip up a tasty "Duck a l'Orange".

Possible, but I imagine these ducks would taste pretty ordinairy.

Oh I don't know Hans. A little Grand Marnier in the sauce may make it taste better

    G'day Isac

Blue ..... yes but it does make for a striking image that is quite acceptable. I would put it into the 'keeper' box

I agree Hans. I'm going to play with the first one to see if I can duplicate that blue colour. Might be fun - might be crap!

I'll be interested. Not a straightforward luminosity masking by the looks of things.

No luminosity masks Hans. Probably masking on a solid color fill layer and then using blending modes. I'll post results later on.

Here's the attempt at replicating the blue reflection. ONce the mask is created you can place the ducks into other situations. Endless possibilities.

I like the first shot Isac, but don't care for the tarp-coloured water in the second. That's an amazing effect just from a truck driving past. Those ducks sure get around.

Cheers Alan. When I was looking through them on my PC I was quite surprised with how bright and vivid the blue was. One in a million I guess,
