Thanks Phil. We have the "28's" here in W.A. The twenty eight parrot is a member of the genus BARNARDIUS along with the Cloncurry Parrot, Mallee Ringneck Parrot and the Port Lincoln. These birds all have a green body and a yellow ring or collar around their necks and are referred to as Australian Ringnecks.
Thanks Hans, they fluff up to regulate their body temperature. By fluffing up they trap small particles of air which warms them up and when they are hot they keep them close to their body. Other times it's when they are greeting other birds and also it can be a sign of contentment.
