  • Aggressive Darter

Saw this Australasian Darter show quire aggressive behaviour to see off some Little Black Cormorants who had dared to intrude into where it was fishing.

All with Nikon D500, Nikon 500mm PF f/5.6. I borrowed by son's camera to try this morning. You can end up with a lot of shots at 10 fps

Well photographed Alan. You've captured lots of action and I like the water patterns coming from the wings in #1. 10fps can capture a lot. My 7Dii does the same but it's still an inferior camera in many ways, compared to the D500. Well done.

Thanks Isac. I was impressed with the D500. Quick to focus and felt very responsive.

I do regret getting Canon. It only happened because my best mate used Canon and we could swap ideas as well as lenses and other gear. If there's a next time, it will be Nikon.

Agree with #1. It is a lovely capture. The smaller droplets coming of the wings add to the exitement. I wouldn't be in a rush to change to Nikon The R5 has been the best seller for as reason. I see some wonderful pictures taken with the 100-500 RF lens which is on my wish list for the Sarengetti Safari when I'm allowed. Providing I don't get to old first.
