The Grackles have quite the iridescent head, but it has to be caught in the right light.

G'day to me ol' mate Roger..... WELCOME aboard the Aussie Photoholics site

As to the bird - yes ~ it appears about the size of one of our crows / ravens / magpies, but that coloured crown certainly stands out
and a 'well done' from me

Welcome Roger. Nice shots, you have caught the iridescence well, and that eye really stands out against the feather colour.

G'day Roger. Good to see you pop in. I hope you're all safe up there in the cold country. These Grackles are very unusual colours and you've displayed them well. Good to see birds from other countries. TFS.

I don't like my attitude and I caught myself drinking on the job.
