  • White Faced Heron

Today I went over to the spot where I captured the shots of the Welcome Swallow and White Faced Heron. This time with the 7D and Siggy 150-600 hoping that they were still hanging around. No luck with the swallow, but the heron stuck around for quite a while posing.

    #1 The 1,000 yard stare.

#5 Take off. I really had to push the contrast and saturation further than I usually do to achieve some separation of the heron from the background (water).

All lovely shots John! It really put on a show for you. Well done. My only CC is more positive space in #1.

Better??? I wanted to have it as a portrait and maintain the 3x2 aspect ratio without having too much space at the top.

All good shots John, but I think #1 stands out. Excellent detail and colour with a nice soft background.

Thanks Alan. It's #1 (both versions) and #3 for me, they both have that intense stare.
