  • Some from Eagleby

Eagleby Wetlands is now wet again. I squelched around for a while this morning and got a few shots. I heard plenty of bird calls but they were being shy.

All with Nikon D800 and Nikon 500mm PF f/5.6

Forest Kingfisher. Huge crop, I waited around for a while but they wouldn't come any closer

Plumed Whistling Ducks. I haven't seen these at this site before. I waited around for a while but they didn't move out of the grass.

All great images as usual Alan. The shot of the Corellas is the money shot in my book. I swear the one getting groomed has a smile on it's face.

Thanks John. The corellas is my favourite too, but I'm not happy with the processing - birds in shade and bright background. I might have another go.

Always a problem when shooting from below. It's not so bad when you have a dark sky, or really blue sky, but light grey and white become an issue for good presentation.

Great set and a good variety. Lovely framing in all. Lovely mottled light in #1 and #2, which I think adds to the shots. It's the light they were in so I don't mind that at all. I've never seen those PW ducks before TFS.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
