  • Black Fronted Dotterels

Quite a few all at the edge of the lake. I've never seen so many all in one place.
Water is getting really low so I wouldn't call it a lake anymore, perhaps a small water hole.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

    G'day mate

Yes- as the water dries up - the crowd seems to get larger (just like Kakadu in the dry season)
Obviously a long-lens shot via the DoF and foreshortening of the subject-matter

Q- have you been PS fiddling with outer sharpness (ie- the bird at the left) or is something else going on??

The one on the left was on the move so I suppose a bit of motion blur rather than a focus issue - other than that no PS fiddling with outer sharpness. I had thought about removing it because it looked strange but didn't bother. Looking at it again, it probably should be replaced with something else. I'll do a quick edit

That's a lot of dotterels. I've only seen one or two pairs in one place

It's a first for me to see so many too Alan - "Strange - but True". There must have been some good treats on the waters edge to attract them.
Working...
