Good story John and well seen. I would try adding a bit more space on the left just to give the gull a bit more space.

I'll have to do a bit of cloning to add space to the left as that is as far as it goes. I framed the image for the group shot, I was always planning on editing out the bird on the left. After having another look I thought that it made an interesting image.
